Take the data
The numbers, as files
Everything behind these pages is published as 8 CSV tables and the JSON the site itself reads. 801 rows in all. No login, no form, no attribution required beyond the NDIA's own.
Before you use it: suppressed counts
The NDIA suppresses any count below 11 to protect people who could otherwise be identified. That is a real value between 1 and 10, not a zero and not a missing observation, and the difference matters: eight of the 86 service districts have at least one suppressed cell.
So in every CSV, a suppressed
figure is an empty cell, and the companion
<field>_masked column is true.
Filter on the flag before you sum, average or rank anything.
Two related flags travel with the data.
_is_partial marks a total that includes a suppressed
component, which makes it a lower bound rather than a count.
_is_estimate marks a figure this site derived rather
than copied from a published table. Both are explained on the
methodology page.
Tables
100 KB in total, as at 30 June 2026
Housing mix against assessed need
7 rows · 1 KB
What share of the housing each design category is, against what share of the assessed need. Both denominators are given: the shares this site quotes are renormalised over the four categories the NDIA reports on both sides, and the categories excluded from that comparison are in the table too rather than dropped.
The SDA gap, by service district
86 rows · 7 KB
Every NDIS service district: how many participants live in SDA, how many are eligible and are not, the two added together, and the SIL and total participant counts beside them.
Supply and demand by SA4
105 rows · 19 KB
Enrolled dwellings, resident places, participants living in SDA and eligible for it, utilisation and implied occupancy, with the design category, building type and resident capacity splits spread into columns.
Supply and demand by SA3
353 rows · 53 KB
The same table at the finer geography the NDIA reports.
Pipeline by SA4
96 rows · 4 KB
Unfinished, unenrolled new build dwellings registered with the NDIA, split by design category, against the enrolled stock in the same region.
Pipeline by state
8 rows · 0 KB
The same pipeline count rolled up to states and territories.
What every column means
145 rows · 15 KB
Each column of each table above, with what it holds and what it does not. Generated from the files themselves, and the build fails if a column is added without an entry, so it cannot quietly fall behind.
National supply, quarter by quarter
1 rows · 1 KB
The archive this site keeps for itself. The NDIA's supply tables are snapshots that each release overwrites, so this is the only series of them there is.
JSON
What the pages themselves read, nesting intact
The CSVs drop anything that will not sit in a cell: each district's quarterly series, and the deeper cross-tabs. Those are here, in the same files the site loads.
- national.json The national snapshot, every KPI with its source table
- sda_gap.json The gap table, with each district's quarterly series
- supply_sa4.json SA4 supply and demand, fully nested
- supply_sa3.json SA3 supply and demand, fully nested
- pipeline.json Pipeline, national, by state and by SA4
- build_types.json Building type by design category, per region
- pricing.json Base prices, location factors and design definitions
- participants.json Participant counts and budgets
- regions.json The region index, with codes and slugs
- manifest.json What was built, when, from which source files
Licence and attribution
The underlying data is the NDIA's, published under CC BY 4.0 and attributed to © National Disability Insurance Scheme Agency 2013. That licence travels with these files: use them for anything, including commercially, so long as the Agency is credited as the source.
The parsing, joining and derivation are this site's work, and are offered on the same terms. A citation is welcome and not required. If you are publishing a figure this site derived rather than copied, say so, because the NDIA did not publish it and should not be blamed for it.
This data is provided for the purpose of public insight into the operation of the NDIS. It should not be treated as a forecast. The National Disability Insurance Agency accepts no liability for the representation of this data.
How current this is
These files were built on 11 October 2026 from the NDIA release covering 30 June 2026. The Agency publishes quarterly; this site rebuilds when it does. Every source file, with the date it was fetched and the hash it was fetched at, is listed on the methodology page.
