About this site
An independent reading of public data
SDA Atlas presents what the NDIA publishes about Specialist Disability Accommodation: 14,235 enrolled dwellings, 25,658 people assessed as needing one, and the distance between those two facts. It is not affiliated with the Agency.
What this is
The NDIA publishes a great deal about this market. It arrives as quarterly PDFs and spreadsheets: a 60 page report, an eighteen tab workbook, a dozen CSVs. All of it is public, and almost none of it is readable without a spreadsheet and an afternoon.
This site does that work once a quarter and puts the result somewhere anyone can look. Every figure links back to the NDIA table it came from, and every figure that this site computed rather than copied is marked as an estimate wherever it appears.
Nothing here is behind a login or a paywall. The processed data is published as JSON alongside the pages, under the same open licence as the source.
What it will not do
No provider directory
This site does not list, rank or recommend SDA providers, and takes no position on any of them.
No lead capture
Nothing here collects your details. There is no form, no newsletter, no account, and no tracking of who reads what.
No advertising, no sponsorship
Nobody pays to appear here, and no commercial relationship influences what is shown.
No advice
Nothing here is advice about your housing, your plan or an investment. It is a presentation of published statistics.
Independence
Worth stating plainly, because a site built entirely from one agency's data can easily be mistaken for that agency's.
SDA Atlas is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the National Disability Insurance Agency. The NDIA has no involvement in what appears here and no opportunity to review it before publication.
The data is used under the open licence the Agency publishes it with. Where this site draws a conclusion the NDIA has not drawn, that is said explicitly, and where the NDIA has drawn one, it is quoted and attributed rather than presented as a finding of this site.
Corrections
This site publishes contestable numbers about disability housing. Some of them are estimates, and estimates can be wrong.
A public contact address has not been published yet. In the meantime, every figure on this site can be checked directly against the NDIA table it came from: the methodology page lists every source with the exact file, its reporting date and the SHA-256 hash of the bytes the figures were computed from.
The build will not publish at all if its validation gates fail, which is deliberate: keeping last quarter’s numbers up is better than putting wrong ones in their place.
